PHP_Common diseases in cats-lower urinary tract syndrome

Feline lower urinary tract disease is a general term for a series of clinical symptoms caused by irritation of the bladder and urethra. Common causes include spontaneous cystitis, urinary stones, urethral emboli, etc. Cats affected are between 2 and 6 years old, are obese, are kept indoors, do little exercise, eat dry feed as their main diet, and are stressed. Symptoms include increased visits to the toilet, squatting for a long time when peeing, meowing when peeing, dripping urine, red urine, frequent licking around the urethral opening, or peeing everywhere.

△Prevention

1. Increase water intake. Cats need to drink 50~100㏄ per kilogram of body weight every day to ensure sufficient urination.

2. Control your weight appropriately.

3. Clean the cat litter box regularly. It is best to place the cat litter box in a quiet and well-ventilated place.

4. Try to avoid creating an environment that makes cats feel stressed.
